Awarded the loudest band

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

Did we mention we fuqin’ roq?! Last time we were in our rehearsal room a.k.a. “the bunker” -  the first time with Sy.Co back from rehab – a guy knocked at the door, came in, and said we are the loudest band in here; and there are quite some bands in that building. Even though we have our “window” (a hole in the wall) filled up with some soundproofing device we can be heard outside as if we were playing the parking lot. Cool thing! He went out and came back with even more styrofoam stuff and squeezed it into the hole, but we quess it made not a tiny difference at all; but he was satisfied, so we rocked on. Oh, and he said he liked our music which reminds him of early Bowie songs…didn’t know that, didn’t have that in mind, but I like the idea anyway. And on top of that some woman in her late 50s came a little later and declared she really liked our songs (we were playing the slow ones at the time). Man, we are the band everyone can relate to

And so we own the award for “Loudest Band”; come and try to take it away from us, we have a lot of amp power in store to give you a hard fight if you dare to try…

Roq on people!!

OOOOOOOH YEAH!

That was huge, that was grand, that was one for the ages…our first open air appearance ever lies some days behind us, and it still blows our minds. About two weeks earlier we got a mail saying they wanted us to play their “FH Darmstadt Sommerfest”, and we said “Yes, let’s do that.”, knowing that our drummer was out for some more weeks. So, Tom G made some calls, and Wolf joined the band for the gig, which made us spend night after night in our bunker rehearsing all week to get the songs into Wolf’s hands. And he did it, learned them all, and hit the drums so hard we thought he would wreck it in two songs maximum. But the drum held. So on Friday the 13th we drove out to Darmstadt to see what’s gonna happen there….

We arrived there, and it was fun from the first second on. The stage was prepared, fully equipped with a big p.a. and light system, ready to roll. We only had to bring our amps, plug em in, check the lines, and do our thing. And what a big thing we did…man, can’t tell you if you weren’t there. The weather cleared, the rain stopped, the people who were there already came up front, so we kicked it… played a whole 1 hour set with all the songs we have, made the crowd go loud, forced them into submission to the groove, and when we were done, it was all dark, and it was a real open air dream come true.

I could go on for hours writing on each detail, but I guess most visitors are in quite a hurry, so I’ll keep it short…if you want to know more, don’t hesitate and mail us! Phone us up! Just ask. A million thanks once more to Wolf for being such a great human being and a hell of a drummer, thanks to the AStA guys (especially Heiko) who believed in us to rock their party, and kudos to the sound mixing guy, man, Mario, you’re the shit, you gave us the almost best monitor sound we ever had. Thanks to you, it was such a great experience that night! And thank you to everyone out there in the crowd making it such a pleasure playing. You know who you are….
Peace everbody!!

Out in the open

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Long time passed since the last entry, so we thought we should return with a big blow…breaking news to blast your heads! We have just been confirmed to play the “AStA Sommerfest” at Darmstadt on June 13th; party starts earlier that day, so you can come whenever you like, as you are, how you feel, but be sure to be there by 21.00h latest, as we head for the stage at exactly that time.

This is gonna be a gig to remember, because it will be the first open air show in band history, and we will be joined by “Wolf” on drums. Yeah, you read right, we have a new guy on drums, but this show only, as Sy.Co, or Mr. Deliq as he calls himself at the moment, is still out of order due to knee surgery. Yes, thanks for asking, yes, he’s doing well and will be back pretty soon. And a big *Kudos!!* to Wolf for joining us that night.

So, see you there!! And don’t forget to
a) bring your sunglasses
b) bring each and every girl you know
c) leave your boyfriend at home (if you are a girl)
d) roq out!!

Last one this spring

Hey y’all out here! We just played our last gig for some time to come, as Sy.Co is approaching his weeks on the sick list – yep, somehow most of the band was on sick roll the last months, must be our biblical age  But nevermind, we’ll be back in full swing this fall .

The gig I wanted to write about was at the Bruchtal in Darmstadt; we headlined an evening there and were supported by CUBIQ…fine guys, really, hardly ever met a band that was that sympathetic and easy to get along with, not to mention the fun we had on and off stage. Guess we’ll be playing some more nights together soon… The show itself went really great, even though only few people found their way down into the dungeon that is the venue. But those who were there burned down that place, rocking, rolling, clapping, singing, firecracking, what else can we wish for. Thanks to every single one in the audience and once more to Cubiq for being nice beings as well as for bringing along such great fans

Okay, that’s it for today, have fun, enjoy your time on this planet, and remember to roq the fuq each day! Peace!!

Now!!

SickSickSick

Boy, that is a rude time we are having right now. The last gig went okay, but it was not the crackling firework we expected it to be. Some 10 days ago we played the first show of the TRIPLE CROWN TOUR at the Cave in Frankfurt; only (?) some 35 paying guests attended the show, making it a crowd of 50 including all the guest list guys. One problem was definetely the entrance fee of 9 Euros on a Wednesday night, but we couldn’t do anything about it even though we tried hard. The sound onstage was not perfect but still okay, and we heard that the sound in the audience was not that good: only one guitar and too low voices. Anyway, we had some fun up there, mostly due to the truckload of accidents that happend: a broken bass drum kick thingy, breaking guitar strings all over the place, the famous guitar-change-chaos-with-adjoined-cable-salad, out of tune guitars, lights so bright you couldn’t see your own fingerboard, and so on. It didn’t feel quite right, even though our fans and the other bands told us we we’re quite good that night. But the feel wasn’t right, damn it! So, off of the stage, and getting drunk was a nice option. Bif thumbs up and thanx again to all our fans for attending the show, “hut-abs” to the Bläuen Szöök and Careless, thanx to Chris for letting us play the Cave, and a big fuckoff to the overpriced guy mixing the sound; he was okay, don’t get us wrong, but 130 Euros was definetely far too much for the performance he delivered.

And by now the band is on sick roll with a swollen knee and two flus…so we’re out of order right now; hopefully we will be back at our bunker by April to practice the new song waiting there for us, and preparing the next gig on May 1 at Darmstadt…
